Privacy Policy

Effective October 9, 2026

The short version Riff runs entirely on your device. It has no servers, sends nothing to its developer or anyone else, and never sells, shares or transfers your data.

Riff is a Chrome extension that helps you write replies and comments on X, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram using Gemini Nano, the AI model built into Chrome. This policy explains what Riff handles, where it is kept and what it never does.

What Riff handles, and why

Where it's kept

Your settings, Library, Voice profile and recent replies are stored in Chrome's extension storage on your computer. The post you picked is held in Chrome's session storage and is cleared when you close the tab or Chrome. All AI processing happens in Gemini Nano, which runs on your device. Riff never sends post text, drafts or anything else to a server.

What Riff never does

Your control

Gemini Nano and Chrome

Gemini Nano is provided by Google as part of Chrome. Chrome downloads the model once, and Chrome itself is covered by Google's Privacy Policy. Riff only uses the model through Chrome's built-in Prompt API on your device.

Chrome Web Store User Data Policy

Riff's use of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who runs Riff

Riff is made by Zima Media OÜ, an Estonian private limited company, doing business as Riff. Riff is free to use. There is no account, subscription, or payment.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
