Talk to the canvas

How-toNew in 0.3.0

For anyone shaping a post. The canvas works like a chat: you say what you want, Riff answers with a draft.

Ask for a change in plain words, and each answer lands as a new version.
  1. Start with notes. The empty canvas asks What do you want to post on LinkedIn?. Type rough notes in the box, or click one of your saved points under the question, and press Enter. Your notes show as a bubble and the draft streams in under it as v1.
  2. Ask for a change. Once there's a draft, the box is set to Change this draft and suggests things like "shorter", "open with the client result", "less formal". Type what you want and press Enter. The answer lands as v2, then v3, and so on.
  3. Start again from new notes. Switch the box to New draft, type the new notes and press Enter. Earlier versions stay on the canvas.

Why long chats keep working. Each change sends Gemini Nano only three things: your notes, the current draft and the change you asked for. The rest of the chat stays in the panel, so the canvas doesn't run out of room however many changes you make.

Shift+Enter adds a line. Esc stops a draft mid-stream; what's there is kept as a version marked stopped early.
