Comment on an Instagram post

How-to

For anyone commenting on instagram.com from a desktop browser.

Instagram gets the short, casual version, and the link stays out.
  1. Open the post and click the wave button next to the Like and Comment icons. The panel shows the caption and notes what the post holds, like Includes a photo carousel, so the reply can react to it.
  2. Add your point and press Enter. Riff writes short and casual, like a comment typed on a phone.
  3. Click Insert into comment and press Post yourself.

Riff never adds a link on Instagram, because Instagram doesn't make links in comments clickable. The Link field says so: Instagram comments can't hold clickable links, so Riff leaves the link out here. Comments can run to 2,200 characters; Riff aims for about 70, 140 or 260.
