"Couldn't reach the reply box"

Fix
Symptom

After Insert, a message says Couldn't reach the reply box. The draft is copied, so you can paste it. It may say comment box or message box instead.

Riff couldn't reach the box, so the draft is on your clipboard: open the box and paste.

Riff couldn't find or open the box on the page, so it put the draft on your clipboard.

  1. Open the reply, comment or message box on the site yourself, click into it and press Insert again, or just paste with Ctrl/⌘+V.
  2. If the post or chat is in a pop-up, make sure it's open and visible, then try again.
  3. Check you're inserting into the same post or conversation the panel shows; click Re-read the post on screen if not.

If it keeps happening on one site, the site may have changed its layout: copy diagnostics and include them when you ask for help A conversation isn't picked up.
