Answer a Messenger chat on facebook.com

For anyone replying in Messenger on facebook.com: the chat pop-ups on any Facebook page and the full Messages page (facebook.com/messages).

In Messenger the draft is pasted in one go, and Enter stays yours.
  1. Open the chat and click into its message box, or click the wave button next to it. The panel switches to Messenger and shows the conversation.
  2. Press Enter with Your point empty, or add a point to steer the reply.
  3. Click Insert into message. Riff pastes the draft into the box in one go, because Messenger sends on Enter. Press Enter when it reads right.

Riff writes the way people text: casual, warm and short, matching their length, their tone and whether they use emoji. The standalone site messenger.com isn't covered yet; use Messages on facebook.com.
