What stays on your device
For anyone asking where their posts, points and replies go. Everything stays on this computer: Riff makes no network requests and has no account and no API key.
| What | Where it lives | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Your Voice, Never say list, dial positions, links, saved points, the point you're writing, default language, last-used site | Chrome's local storage on this computer | Until you change or delete it |
| Your last 60 inserted or copied replies | Chrome's local storage | Until you press Clear in Voice |
| The post you're replying to, or the visible messages of the one conversation you're answering | Chrome's session storage for that tab | Until the tab closes |
| The writing itself | Gemini Nano, running inside Chrome | Never leaves the device |
What Riff reads on each site: the text and author of the post you pick, plus a quoted post or the post above it in a thread; on LinkedIn the author's headline; in a DM, the visible messages of that conversation, who it's with and which messages are yours. Riff's scripts run only on x.com, linkedin.com, facebook.com and instagram.com. Nothing syncs to other devices; a backup Back up and restore is a file you keep. The privacy policy has the details.
