How DM replies differ from post replies

ExplainerNew in 0.2.4

For anyone who has used Riff on posts and wants to know what changes in a chat. The dials, Voice and Library all still apply; a few things change.

Six rules for chats, one beat each.
In a DMWhat Riff does
Your point is optionalThe box says Optional. Leave it empty and Riff works out the reply from the conversation, or add what you want to say. Empty: it answers what they said or asked. Filled: it says your thing in reply to theirs.
It answers firstWhatever their latest message asks gets answered before anything else, so it's clear you read it.
It never decides for youIf they ask for a time, a price or a yes or no, Riff asks a short question back or lets them suggest one, instead of committing you.
Greeting and sign-offA first-name greeting only when the conversation is new, none mid-conversation, and never a sign-off or a signature.
It matches themTheir length, their formality and whether they use emoji. Plain text, no lists, no headings.
It sticks to what's on screenRiff never invents facts, numbers, plans or anything "said earlier" that isn't in the visible conversation.
You wrote lastRiff writes a friendly follow-up instead of an answer Nudge someone who hasn't answered.

What Riff reads: the visible messages of that one conversation, who it's with (their name, plus the headline on LinkedIn and the username on Instagram) and which messages are yours. It keeps them only for that tab's session and sends nothing anywhere What stays on your device.
